Claire-Louise was born in Lowestoft and trained at Camberwell Art School in London. Based in various inland parts of the country, she combined a teaching career with bringing up two children. On retirement, Claire-Louise returned to live and paint in the beloved seaside town of her birth."The sea seems to draw me like a magnet. The pounding of the waves on the shore is like the heartbeat of the World, both soothing and awe-inspiring. This Suffolk coast, with its relentlessly changing mood and vast skies, provides the unique atmosphere that I try to express in my paintings."
